More chatting

Chatty Harper

Harper has been talking a lot the past few weeks, but last Tuesday she woke up talking and has not stopped since. She makes these high pitched noises (I call Mermaid noises) and will talk back and forth with me. She's always fun to get in the morning, but now even more fun because she welcomes us with a "good morning" screech and big smile. I've tried to upload videos of her chatting, but they don't load for some reason. I finally got this one to load. She was in her crib hanging out while I was cleaning up a bit and I could hear her in the other room.

Beaverdale Festival

Yesterday we walked down to the Beaverdale Fall Festival parade. The weather was perfect, and we were actually impressed with what our little neighborhood parade had to offer. Harper slept throught most of it, even the marching bands and bagpipers. A couple of the highlights were the giant beavers and the bagpipes, and ofcourse the great weather! One of my favorite floats was the air conditioner.

Harper is 3 Months Old!

We can't believe how fast our little girl is growing! She turned 3 months old on Friday. Today (Sunday) she giggled for the first time, which was very fun. She keeps changing every day and keeps making the cutest noises.

Harper's First Ball Game!

We had absolutely beautiful weather on Labor Day, so we decided to take Harper out to her first baseball game. Of course, it's only AAA Iowa Cubs, but it was a good start to get her used the big ball games. Now she'll be ready should the Cards make the World Series in October : )

We also got to see our old friend So Taguchi playing center field, which was kind of fun. The I-Cubs lost to the Albuquerque Isotopes, but it was a fun outing nonetheless (just to clarify, we support the local team of the I-Cubs [unless they are playing Memphis], but in no way support the Chicago Cubs).

Harper's Latest Developments

Harper is really starting to get chatty lately. She will talk back and forth with me for long periods of time. She gets so excited and makes the cutest noises. For a while it seems she has been on the verge of giggling, but no giggles yet, just a lot up different pitched cute noises.

She is starting to be very alert and very responsive. She is responding to tickling, and has begun studying things a lot more.

She is also starting to hold her toys. Yesterday, her butterfly toy was in her bouncy seat and she grabbed it. I had to change her diaper, picked her up, took her into the nursery, and she held on to her toy the whole time! It was so cute. Then after being changed, she gave Mrs. Butterfly a toss (she didn't fly).

She has had a favorite toy for a while, Mr. Dragonfly. She loves Mr. Dragonfly. He will always make her smile, even when she's crying, she starts smiling in between cries, it's so adorable. We have a whole spread in her scrapbook devoted to Mr. Dragonfly.

Here is a picture of me in my christening gown, November 30, 1975. This was first worn before me by Aunt Naa.

Aunt Naa has had it through the years and gave it to me for Harper's christening (Thanks Auntie Naa!).

Here is Harper in the same dress, laying on the same blanket as picture above.

Grandma & Grandpa Visit

My mom and dad came up for the State Fair party, then my mom stayed for two weeks and we hung out and scarpbooked Harper's first few months. It was a ton of fun! After the two weeks, dad came back up for another brief visit. It was fun for Harper having Grandpa and Grandma here!
